Every key term in Last War: Survival — shields, alliances, KvK, exposed bases, hero dispatch, server migration, and more. Each entry is a deep-dive on the mechanic, the strategy, and the meta.
A shield is temporary base protection shown in Last War. Use the active countdown and current game rules to plan when you need to check protection again.
An alliance in Last War: Survival is the up-to-100-player guild that shares territory, helps each other build and heal, and fights together in KvK, alliance wars, and server-vs-server events. Joining an active alliance is the single biggest power multiplier in the game.
KvK — Kingdom vs Kingdom — is the multi-day cross-warzone war event in Last War: Survival where your entire server is matched against another server and players cross over to fight directly. KvK is the highest-stakes regular content in the game and the source of the best gear, hero shards, and titles.
An exposed base in Last War: Survival is a base whose shield timer has run out (or was never set) — meaning any other player on the warzone can rally it, solo march it, or scout it. "Exposed" is the trigger word for every offensive action in the game.
Gathering in Last War: Survival is the act of sending a march of troops to a resource tile (food field, iron mine, oil rig, or gold cache) so they can occupy it and slowly collect resources over time. Gathering is the main income stream past the early game but it also puts your army outside the safety of your shielded base.
Hero dispatch is the Last War: Survival mission system where you send heroes (not troops) on cross-server delivery runs that complete on a timer and return resources, items, or hero EXP. Dispatch missions can be intercepted (plundered) by other players for a portion of the cargo, which makes them a unique mid-game PvP target.
A hero in Last War: Survival is a named character recruited via gacha, story missions, or the season pass who leads troop marches, sits in your base for passive buffs, and unlocks specific content like dispatch missions and rally-leader bonuses. Heroes are the single biggest combat power multiplier in the game past base level 15.
A warzone in Last War: Survival is the full game server — a single map shared by all the players assigned to it (typically 6,000-10,000 active accounts plus thousands of dormant ones). The warzone ID (e.g. APS2227, APS2245) is the canonical address that all cross-server features — including LW Spy scanning — use to identify a specific server.
Server migration means moving an existing Last War character to another warzone through an available transfer event. It is different from a map teleport or creating a new character.
The Alliance Flag in Last War: Survival is the building an alliance plants on the world map to claim territory — every member can then teleport for free into the flag's radius, and alliance turrets / fortress structures can be built within it. The flag is the cornerstone of alliance map presence.
An alliance turret in Last War: Survival is a defensive building planted inside alliance flag territory that automatically attacks any enemy march or rally that enters the radius. Turrets provide passive defense while alliance members are offline and are a core part of alliance-territory war strategy.
Once you know what an exposed base is, the next step is finding every exposed base on the warzone. That's what LW Spy does.
