What is Alliance in Last War: Survival?

An alliance in Last War: Survival is the up-to-100-player guild that shares territory, helps each other build and heal, and fights together in KvK, alliance wars, and server-vs-server events. Joining an active alliance is the single biggest power multiplier in the game.

How alliances work

Every Last War: Survival player can be in exactly one alliance at a time. Alliances are created by spending diamonds (or for free with a creation token), and the creator becomes the R5 — the alliance leader. The R5 sets the tag (3 characters, displayed next to every member's name on the world map), the alliance name, the recruitment policy (open / by-request / closed), and the language preference.

Alliances cap at 100 members. Once full, the R5 must kick someone before a new member can join. Active top alliances aggressively cycle low-power and inactive members to keep all 100 slots filled by serious players, because alliance score in Kill Events is the sum of all 100 member contributions.

Membership grants access to alliance help (other members shave seconds off your build and research timers), alliance gifts (free items when an alliance member opens a chest or hits a milestone), alliance store currency, alliance tech (a separate shared research tree paid for in alliance coin), and the right to teleport inside the alliance territory near the alliance flag.

Alliance ranks (R1-R5) and what each can do

R5 (leader) — full control. Can disband, transfer leadership, change settings, promote/demote anyone, kick anyone, build/destroy alliance buildings, declare wars. One per alliance.

R4 (officer / elite) — second-tier authority. Can kick R3 and below, accept applicants, build alliance turrets and flags, and assign rally captain roles. Most alliances run 4-8 R4s split into roles (war captain, recruitment officer, diplomacy officer).

R3 / R2 (members) — combat-active rank. R3 typically signals "trusted, can lead rallies"; R2 signals "active and contributing". Both can teleport to alliance territory, request help, and participate in alliance buildings.

R1 (recruit) — new joins. Limited access until promoted. Some alliances auto-promote to R2 after a week of activity; others gate by power threshold.

Alliance buildings: flag, turrets, fortress

The alliance flag is the cornerstone — planting it claims territory and lets all members teleport into the claimed area for free. Without a flag, the alliance has no shared map presence. R4+ can plant additional flags to extend the territory.

Alliance turrets are defensive buildings placed inside the flag territory. They auto-attack any enemy march that crosses the alliance border, providing passive defense while members sleep. Turret HP and damage scale with alliance tech.

The Alliance Fortress is the late-game centerpiece — a massive structure that gives buffs to every member inside its radius. Fortress wars (alliance-vs-alliance battles to capture each other's fortress) are the highest-stakes regular alliance content.

Why alliance choice is the biggest decision in the game

Alliance picks determine what content you can do. Big alliances do KvK, fortress wars, season events, and aggressive cross-warzone migrations. Small / inactive alliances let you skip the war calendar but lock you out of the rewards and the rally protection that comes with being in a top-tier guild.

The single biggest cost of being in a weak alliance is rally defense — when an enemy rally is incoming, only alliance members can join your defensive counter-rally. If your alliance has no online players when you're attacked, you eat the rally solo. Being in a 24/7-active alliance means there's always someone awake to call into your defense.

The LW Spy alliance scanner lets leadership audit a target alliance — every member's power, base coordinates, and shield status in one sweep — before declaring a war or scheduling a fortress strike.

Common alliance questions

Most new players ask whether they can be in two alliances at once. They can't. The game enforces single-membership and you have to quit (or be kicked) before joining a new one. There IS a 24-hour cooldown after leaving before you can join the next alliance, which prevents R5s from using alts to spy on each other's alliance chat.

Disbanding an alliance is permanent — the tag is freed up and any unused alliance coin / tech is reset. Most R5s transfer leadership rather than disband so the founders' history is preserved.

Frequently Asked Questions

How many players can an alliance hold in Last War: Survival?▾
A maximum of 100 players. There is no expansion past this cap — top alliances cycle inactive members aggressively to keep all 100 slots productive.
What do the alliance ranks R1 through R5 mean?▾
R5 is the leader (one per alliance, full control). R4 is the officer tier with kick/recruit authority. R3 and R2 are active members. R1 is a recruit. Higher ranks unlock building and management powers.
Can I be in multiple alliances?▾
No. The game enforces one alliance per account, and there's a 24-hour cooldown after leaving an alliance before you can join the next one.
What's the difference between an alliance and a warzone?▾
A warzone is the entire server (8,000+ players, 100+ alliances). An alliance is your 100-player guild within that warzone. KvK pits alliances from one warzone against alliances from another.
How do I find a good alliance?▾
Look for the top 10 by alliance score in the rankings menu. Active alliances run KvK, win Kill Events, and have all 100 slots filled. Avoid alliances with empty slots, low score, or no recent war participation.
