Hero dispatch is the Last War: Survival mission system where you send heroes (not troops) on cross-server delivery runs that complete on a timer and return resources, items, or hero EXP. Dispatch missions can be intercepted (plundered) by other players for a portion of the cargo, which makes them a unique mid-game PvP target.
Dispatch missions live in the Hero Dispatch building inside your city. Each mission shows a cargo type (resources, hero shards, gear, or speedups), a duration (5 minutes to several hours), a difficulty rating, and the heroes required. You assign 1-3 heroes from your roster, tap dispatch, and the heroes leave the city on the world map as a visible truck travelling between two cross-server coordinates.
Mission completion gives the rewards back to your inventory. The longer / harder missions give bigger payouts but expose the dispatch truck to plunder for the entire travel duration. Short missions are safer but rewards are small.
Hero level, hero quality, and the matching specialty (some heroes have dispatch buffs as a passive) all increase rewards and reduce travel time. A maxed dispatch build can run 6-8 missions per day vs 2-3 for a beginner.
Dispatch trucks travelling on the world map are a public PvP target. Any other player who can see the truck — and has a strong enough army — can launch a plunder attack: an interception march that, if successful, steals a percentage of the truck's cargo. The defender loses part of the haul; the attacker gets it plus a kill-event bonus on the dispatched hero's troops.
Plundering is the most-overlooked income source in Last War. Top dispatch hunters earn more resources per day from plundering enemy trucks than from their own gathering. The LW Spy dispatch / plunder scanner returns every active truck on the warzone with its cargo type, ETA, and intercept window, so plunder hunters can stack the biggest hits in order.
Cross-server plundering is especially valuable during KvK travel days, when enemy server dispatch trucks are visible on your map and the kill-event bonus on plunder kills is doubled.
Always dispatch the longest mission you can stay online for — long missions have a much better rate-per-hour but punishing plunder losses if you go offline mid-trip. The 15-30 minute band is the safest "always send" tier.
Pair your dispatch missions with shield up. If your city is shielded the plunder can't hit your base, but the truck on the map is still targetable. Best practice is to dispatch right after entering a shielded window so the truck and the city share the same protection envelope.
Use heroes with dispatch-specialty passives. Even a +20% reward buff stacked over 6 missions per day equals 1+ extra mission's worth of payout per day — pure free income.
Dispatch is the active-play income stream — it requires you to keep starting new missions every hour or two, and rewards rate-per-hour at the cost of your attention. Gathering is the medium-attention stream — set it once, leave the army out, take the loot in 4-8 hours. Base production is the passive stream — slowest per-hour but completely free.
Mid-game (BL 22-26) the optimal split is roughly 50% gathering / 30% dispatch / 20% production. Late-game shifts to 60% gathering / 30% production / 10% dispatch as gathering tile access at the high-tier nodes makes that the dominant rate.
Now that you know what hero dispatch is, scan the warzone and see it live. LW Spy gives you real-time data on every base.
