A shield is temporary base protection shown in Last War. Use the active countdown and current game rules to plan when you need to check protection again.
After activation, check the displayed status and remaining time on the correct character. A shield in your inventory does not protect the base by itself. Compare the countdown with your next realistic login and leave a buffer for delays.
Do not assume multiple items queue themselves or that durations automatically stack. Read the replacement confirmation and inspect the resulting countdown. Before an offensive action, read any warning about losing protection or preventing reactivation. Check troops outside the base and special event rules separately.
Estimated expiry is the observation time plus the remaining duration. Share both date and time zone with teammates. The free shield expiry calculator calculates local and UTC times from your input; it does not activate protection or send notifications by itself.
The shield timing guide includes a worked example and a practical before-logout checklist.
Another player may move or change protection after a scan. An observed countdown is not a guarantee that the base will be exposed at its estimated expiry. Recheck important information in the game.
Now that you know what shield is, scan the warzone and see it live. LW Spy gives you real-time data on every base.
