Last War Intelligence Tips for F2P Players
LW Spy · Independent fan website
Free-to-play (F2P) players in Last War: Survival face a fundamental disadvantage: paying players have more troops, better heroes, and faster progression. But intelligence is the great equalizer. A well-informed F2P player who picks the right targets and avoids the wrong fights consistently outperforms a careless spender. Here is how.
Pick Your Battles Wisely
F2P players cannot afford to lose troops in bad fights. Use LW Spy to identify targets you can beat decisively before committing. Check power levels before rallying. Avoid players significantly above your power — even unshielded, a high-power base can destroy your attacking army. Focus on targets within your power range for guaranteed wins.
Resource Efficiency Through Intelligence
Every resource matters more for F2P players. Use the Dispatch Mission Scanner to find plunderable missions for free resources. Use the Troop Tracker to find gathering opportunities in areas with less competition. Cross-server plunder multiplies your resource income without costing anything extra.
Join the Right Alliance
F2P players benefit enormously from strong alliances. Use the Alliance Scanner to evaluate potential alliances before joining. Look for alliances with active members, good leadership, and a balance of spenders and F2P players. A good alliance amplifies your contribution through rallies and shared intelligence.
Time as Your Greatest Asset
F2P players compensate for lower spending with more strategic play. Spend time learning the game mechanics, studying enemy patterns, and mastering the scanning tools. The player who scans three times a day and knows exactly where to strike beats the player who spends $100 but attacks blindly.
Specialise: Become Your Alliance's Scout
F2P players who try to compete on raw power lose every comparison; F2P players who specialise in a niche role become indispensable. The cheapest, highest-leverage specialisation is intelligence officer. Run an Exposed Targets scan every morning, an Alliance scan on the top three rival alliances every evening, and a Cross-Server Plunder scan whenever your alliance is short on resources — then post the curated results in your war channel. The whales in your alliance have the rally power; you provide the targeting. Within a few weeks the leadership will route every important attack decision through you, and your seat in the alliance is locked regardless of personal power. This is the same dynamic that keeps long-tenure F2P members in top alliances despite never out-paying anyone.
Standard vs Premium: Where the Scan Cap Actually Hurts
The Standard LW Spy plan covers the scans an F2P player actually runs day-to-day — search, exposed targets, alliance scans on a small handful of tags. Premium and Elite raise the daily quota and unlock Cross-Server Plunder and Cross-Server Trucks at scale, which only matter once you are actively chasing UR hero shards across servers or coordinating multi-server kill events. If your gameplay never leaves your home warzone, Standard may be all you ever need. The decision point is when your alliance starts running cross-server operations — at that point a single shared seat used by your scout (you) returns more value to the alliance than five members each paying for their own.
