Last War Secret Tasks & Missions Guide (Including Gold Tasks)

LW Spy · Independent fan website

Secret missions in Last War: Survival are special objectives scattered across the game map that provide valuable rewards when completed. Finding them manually requires scrolling the entire map, which is tedious and time-consuming. Players who find secret missions first get the best rewards, making speed critical.

Using Map Scanning for Discovery

The fastest way to locate secret missions is using a full map scan. LW Spy scans every tile on the server and returns all points of interest, including mission markers. Instead of scrolling for 30 minutes hoping to stumble across a mission, you get a complete list of locations in seconds.

Seasonal Mission Patterns

Secret missions tend to follow patterns based on the current game season. During certain events, missions cluster in specific map regions. Track where missions appear across multiple scans to identify these patterns. Once you know the hot zones, you can prioritize scanning those areas first.

Competing for Mission Rewards

Secret missions are first-come-first-served. Other players are also looking for them. The competitive advantage of using a scanner is that you find all missions instantly instead of discovering them gradually through manual exploration. Send your heroes to the highest-value missions immediately after scanning.

Stacking Secret Task Boxes for the 5K Diamond Payout

Beyond the map-spawned secret missions, the daily Secret Task tab quietly hides one of the highest gem-per-effort grinds in the game. The completed-task boxes do not have to be opened immediately — and that is the whole trick. Stack 50-100 unopened boxes by ignoring the tab for a few weeks, then open the entire stack on a day when the meta refresh shows a high-tier reward (the meta rotates and biases drops upward when fresh). Players who time it right routinely pull 5,000 diamonds in a single sitting from accumulated stacks. The meta refreshes every Monday; check it before opening anything. Pair this with the gold-task variant which has its own much-rarer rotation tied to weapon-rescue events.

Where Do Gold Tasks Spawn?

Gold tasks are the upgraded variant of standard secret tasks — they appear with a distinct gold border in the Secret Task tab and grant 3-5x the reward of a standard task. They do not spawn from map scanning; they roll into the daily task queue probabilistically with a base rate of roughly 1 in 30 tasks. The probability spikes during weapon-rescue events (the tie-in mentioned in the prior section) and during the 24-hour window after a major patch deployment. Save your daily task refresh tokens for the days following a patch — the gold-task spawn rate doubles or triples for that window. The Secret Task tab shows your current refresh count in the upper-right; if you have unused tokens at the end of a patch week, you missed the gold-task window.

How Do I Dig Up Treasure?

Treasure points (the brown chest icons that appear on the world map during certain seasonal events) are dug up by sending a march to the chest tile and selecting "Excavate." The march occupies the tile for the excavation duration (typically 2-4 hours depending on the chest tier), during which other players can rally and steal the chest mid-excavation. Treasure chests are first-come-first-served at the moment of completion: whoever holds the chest tile when the timer ends collects the reward. The Map Scanner finds treasure chests on the world map alongside secret missions — both render as map points but with different point types. Filter the scan results by point type = treasure to surface only chests, prioritise the highest-tier chests first, and stage your excavation marches with overlapping start times so you can hold multiple chests simultaneously.

How to Find Scattered Supplies

Scattered Supplies are smaller resource caches that spawn during specific events (Doomsday, Rescue Mission events, some KvK weeks). They are visually similar to treasure chests but smaller, and the rewards are resource bundles rather than diamonds. Unlike treasure, supplies do not require excavation — your march arrives, collects, and returns. The Map Scanner finds them automatically as part of the same world map sweep that finds secret missions and treasure. The strategic value of scattered supplies is timing: most appear during off-peak hours specifically because the developers want late-night players to have something to gather, so a scan run at 3 AM server time often returns 2-3x the supplies a peak-hour scan returns.
